Chapter 2
Eibba awoke that night to a blinding sun that was so bright it caused her to cry again, which was beginning to become a habit with the young girl. “Shut yer yapper, ya furless lump.” A gruff voice bellowed directly in Eibba’s ear. She screamed, startled out of her mind, and the blinding light was quickly yanked away to be replaced with the face of a snarling ring-tailed lemur. Eibba blinked and started laughing at its cuteness, which was quickly replaced with tears as the lemur viciously backhanded her with its furry little paw. “Whatchu laughin ‘bout gurrrlll? HUH? Got somethin’ to say for yerself?” The lemur growled, but Eibba just stared at it with wide eyes. “Little missy, you know you be violatin’ various laws when you sleep on this here road yonder, ya know? Wouldn’t want a lil’ gal like yerself to get lassoed up in no trouble in roundabout here.” The lemur’s whiplash mood swing, as well as accents, left Eibba cross eyed and dizzy, so when she didn’t respond fast enough the lemur began to beat her with his toothpick sized baton. “You madam are accompanying me to the village jail until we can arrange some sort of agreement as to what your punishment is to be.” He stated formally as he clicked plastic handcuffs solemnly around Eibba’s wrist. She stared, dumbstruck, as he began to attempt to pull her down the road, but suddenly the tiny fox named Timmy launched out of nowhere and landed on the lemur’s magnificent tail. The lemur shrilly screamed, eerily similar to a little girl lemur, and began to frantically flail around, managed to release Eibba from her plastic cuffs. As the lemur continued to thrash around on the ground, Eibba scooped up the tiny fox in her arms and began to sprint across the road towards the magenta forest, never looking back.
